The goal of the project was to develop a personal promotional piece. Its purpose was to showcase myself as an individual as well as represent my skills as a designer. The concept was inspired by box set music albums in order to pay homage to my love of music. However, instead of listening to music when unboxing the album, the viewer gets to listen to my story through both words and visuals.

The design system reflects my personal style. I really admire clean, simple, and natural designs. I wanted to implement this style into my promotional piece. In order to further covey my love of the natural style, I decided to experiment with the use of cyanotypes as photographic elements in my pieces. Not only does it provide the natural photographic element that I was looking for, but it also provides an interesting texture that contrasts the rest of the design. The other design elements also reflect the chosen style as the color scheme is limited (blue, white, black) and the font choice (Raleway) is simple/legible.

Through this project, I wanted to showcase my interest in three different areas of design: print, packaging, and UI/UX. The packaging and print elements feature more heavily throughout the project while the UI/UX elements are more subtle. Those aspects are represented in the form of lines and rectangular boundaries as they are meant to hint at wireframing elements.

I also wanted to focus on usability with this project. I did not want single use deliverables. The box element can be used as additional storage while the other elements showcase visual elements that can be displayed like artwork.
